PF 2025 Let Art Be Your Pilot

December, 2024

The past year has also been full of artistic events for us. For the presentation of contemporary Czech art we had two generous spaces at our disposal - Hala 40 in Holešovická tržnice and Portheimka in Prague's Smíchov district. In these two exhibition spaces we prepared a total of 10 exhibitions - 5 in Hala 40 and 5 in Portheimka.

At Portheimka, we launched a series of large group exhibitions, which are symbolic looks back at the legendary painting and sculpture studios at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. Thus, we have presented more than fifty graduates of Michael Rittstein and Roman Franta's studio and almost the same number of graduates and students of Jiří Petrbok's studio in two group exhibitions at Portheimka.

In addition, we presented solo exhibitions at The Chemistry Gallery by painter Jan Uldrych and multimedia artist Milan Cais, among others. Last year, we also organized the second edition of the Urban Pictus mural art festival, thanks to which more than a dozen new large-scale paintings were created in public spaces in Prague and Brno by Czech and international artists.

In November, we launched a new project Chemistry Prints, which is a new marketplace for prints and works on paper, both in electronic form and through a brick-and-mortar shop next to the gallery in Hall 40 in the Holešovická tržnice.

At the end of the year, we ended this successful year at the art fair SCOPE Miami Beach, where we presented two young Czech artists - painter Pavel Dušek and sculptor Pavlína Kvita, and where we won the Best Booth by International Gallery award from the fair organizers in a competition of almost 100 galleries from all over the world.

All of this would not have been possible without your continued support and interest in what is happening at The Chemistry Gallery. But our international successes show that your support not only has an impact domestically, but also at international events. This only proves that Czech art is of first-class quality in international comparison and that we need to do everything we can to present the art produced in the Czech Republic more and more also abroad. The continuous presentation of Czech art abroad is one of the roles of private galleries and I hope that thanks to your continued support we will be able to play this role in 2025.

In January of the new year we will present two Czech artists in London at the London Art Fair.

Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing you there in 2025!
