The visual artist Andros Foros (1993) perceives the motif of the child as an initiatory tool for a dialogical form between different ages within a single being, but always with an emphasis on the innocent child's face and the fragile disproportionate growth anatomy, which outwardly function as confusing mirroring and fragile mimicry. The contradictions that arise in this introspective "dialogue" are inscribed in the nature of the artist's sculptures, paintings and drawings. Sometimes these are gentle misunderstandings, unintended or embarrassing details, other times they are direct, reckless actions, horrific surprises and traumatic epiphanies. Andros Foros, by his own name Jozef Čižmár, (b. 1993, Hradec Králové), graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in 2013-2019 (Studio of Drawing, School of Jiří Petrboek; Studio of Figurative Sculpture and Medals, School of prof. Jan Hendrych and doc. Vojtěch Míča). He is engaged in sculpture, painting and drawing.
We look forward to meeting you!
