Petr Hajdyla
Petr Hajdyla (*1985) is one of the outstanding personalities of young Czech painting. His unique expression is a rare phenomenon on the Czech art scene both in terms of content and technique. In his canvases, Hajdyla activates basal emotions in the viewer and induces a state of mind similar to lucid dreaming. Hajdyla layers realistic subjects and abstract painting in a collage-like manner. The intention to achieve a sense of a shifted perception of reality in the viewer is also supported by a technique where he uses his own alchemical procedures in combination with academically mastered classical painting. Hajdyla's work is urgent, but unlike the general trend in art, it appeals to the viewer in a positive sense. Hajdyla graduated the First Painting Department of Prof. Daniel Balabán at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava. He has had a number of exhibitions in the Czech Republic and abroad and won several art competitions. He works in Prague and Wallachia, where he lives.
